Courtois: If Bale wasn't committed he wouldn't have played so well on Saturday

Thibaut Courtois has no doubts about Gareth Bale's commitment to Real Madrid.

The Welshman caused a stir with his antics during the recent international break, but the Madrid goalkeeper is confident that the No.11 is focused on the job at hand for his club, just as much as he is with his country.

"He loves his country," Courtois told the press ahead of the Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

"That's not a problem.

"I know Gareth and he's 100 percent committed every day.

"He's a professional and he takes care of himself. We saw how he played when he came on on Saturday.

"He almost scored and if he wasn't committed he wouldn't have played like that."

When asked about the 'Wales, Golf, Madrid' flag itself, Courtois didn't want to comment.

"We're here to win games," Courtois said.

"What's happened has happened, but we just want him to give everything in training.

"The fans can have their opinion, but I'm nobody to comment."

Courtois has faced his own criticism this season and despite struggling before settling down, he's always backed himself.

"All I can do is give my best to win the fans' affection," Courtois explained.

"As a goalkeeper you can't lose confidence in yourself.

"I think about helping the team and not about what people say. The coach sees me every day."
