Arsenal manager reveals the list of players to remain at Emirates

Arteta recognize all his players as useful resources for him to be achieve his goals in Arsenal. And he is not ready to leat any of his player to leave Emirate presently.

A look at the status of each player at Arsenal and which ones should be kept, sold or loaned out by the Gunners.

we reach the halfway point of the January transfer window, much of the focus has been on Arsenals outgoings as the club are still yet to make their first signing of the decade.

Arsenal have appeared much more dominant than in the past. They seem to know exactly what they want from these loan deals playing time in the players preferred position and are willing to wait until they find the right fit.

Therefore, rather than focusing on their incomings, heres a look at Arsenals possible departures and where every player in the squad stands ahead of January.

Bernd Leno

The German was one a few saving graces for Arsenal in the first half of the season. Without him, Arsenal could have been in serious trouble as his goal was peppered week in week out, resulting in him making the second most saves in the league 83. Under Mikel Arteta, he also seems to be more comfortable when playing out of the right as touched on in the analysis of Arsenal draw with Crystal Palace. Without a doubt, he should be kept this month.

Emi Martinez

Emi Martinez game time is surely going to decrease but he should still remain at the club. Arsenal still have the chance to win the FA Cup and Europa League and he can feature in these competitions before the Gunners reach the latter stages.

Matt Macey

Matt Macey has firmly cemented as the clubs third choice goalkeeper, a move away would probably be best for Matt Macey. He spent last season on loan at Plymouth, making 34 appearances but this year is development has stalled by staying at Arsenal. If he sees a future at Arsenal another loan would be beneficial but if he wants to become a No 1 somewhere, he will need to get the required experience quickly.

Kieran Tierney

There is no hope that of Kieran Tierney moving this month. The club will hope the rehab from his shoulder injury goes well so he can see out the rest of the season.

Sead Kolasinac

With Tierney sidelined, keeping hold of Sead Kolasinac is a must. Especially as he has also improved under Arteta, becoming much more effective in both the defensive and attacking thirds of the pitch.

Ainsley Maitland Niles

Maitland-Niles finally seems to have his place in the Arsenal starting XI. Before Arteta appointment a loan may have been a possibility for him but now hes just as important to the side as anybody else - a must keep.

Lucas Torreira

Lucas Torreiras future have also died down heavily since the dismissal of Unai Emery in November. Now the Uruguayan is back as one of the sides key players at it should stay like this for seasons to come.

Granit Xhaka

Although claims that Granit Xhaka continued into January, those have been put to bed. Alongside this, he has also become one of the most influential players in the side, making every tick in midfield. The 27 year old should definitely be kept until the end of the season at least.

Dani Ceballos

We all know the deal with Dani Ceballos. Now all thats needed from him is to make a proper return from injury and see if he can justify taking the number eight at Arsenal for an entire season.

Matteo Guendouzi

Arsenal need to keep Matteo Guendouzi around. He may be in one of the most difficult periods of his Arsenal career to date but the Frenchman is probably most suited to step up in Torreiras absence.

Joe Willock

Joe Willock may be best served going out on loan. Although he began the season brightly, he has struggled to find consistency and at 20 years old, it is key that he starts to play senior football regularly to find his base performance level.

Mesut Ozil

Another player that has exploded into life under Arteta, Mesut Ozil was never probably going to go anywhere this month. Even when Unai Emery was in charge the German was adamant that he would see out his current Arsenal contract which expires in 2021. Now that his performances have improved that further supports the argument that he will stay until next summer at least.

Reiss Nelson

Since Arteta returned to Arsenal, it has been clear that he has faith in Reiss Nelson. The youngster has started three of the five games hes taken charge of and with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang suspended, he could feature heavily. Even if he doesnt, Nelson will be useful in all competitions for Arsenal as the season reaches its close another must keep.

Nicolas Pepe

Nicolas Pepe has the club record signing, theres no chance hell leave any time soon. Hopefully he can really kick on in the second half of the season.

Gabriel Martinelli

Arteta is not read to let Gabriel Martinelli leave Arsenal because he believe that Martinelli will be useful for his work. The forward could possibly challenge Alexandre Lacazette for a place in the side when Aubameyang is back and has already proven he has what it takes to make the difference for Arsenal. Hell be key in the Europa League too.

Bukayo Saka

The 18 year old should also be kept even though a loan move might be tempting. He provides good cover at left back while Kieran Tierney is still injured and could prove valuable in the cup runs.

Alexandre Lacazette

Despite his tough run of form six games without scoring Lacazette should be kept at Arsenal. He can hold up and link play like no other striker at the club but really does need to find form in front of goal again. His performances are steadily improving so goal may not be too far away.

Pierre Emerick Aubameyang

Aubameyang future were put to bed swiftly but the man himself as well as Arteta. Now the focus will move to the end of the season as the Spaniard admitted that contract talks will not be opened during the season with Aubameyang as football is the main focus. Either way, he should be kept indefinitely.

Eddie Nketiah

Arteta has also made it clear that the intention is to loan Eddie Nketiah back out for the rest of the season.

We have to think mid long term with Eddie, he said after Arsenal 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace . We have to respect his evolution and development, we dont have to make a decision just based on two or three games.
