Arsenal Told To Sign Premier League Goal Machine As Replacement For Aubumeyang

Arsenal have been urged to target Burnley striker Chris Wood if they need to find a replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang or Alexandre Lacazette in the coming months. Before the Premier League campaign was halted by the coronavirus outbreak, there was speculation over the futures of the Gunners’ top strike duo. And top sports writer and big Arsenal fan Matt Scott believes Wood would be a great signing, saying he could be the Gunners’ new Olivier Giroud.




Aubameyang’s contract at the Emirates Stadium expires in June 2021, and there have been plenty of rumours of a possible move away from the club before then, especially if the club miss out on Champions League. Lacazette’s deal has a little longer to run, expiring in June 2022.




Although there have been reports Mikel Arteta could look to cash in on the frontman in the next transfer window as part of his squad rebuild, especially considering he has scored just seven Premier League goals this season. Like a number of their recent signings, including winger Nicolas Pepe, centre-back William Saliba and full-back Kieran Tierney, the Gunners could look to bring in top players from abroad in their search for their next striker.




If Arsenal do lose Aubameyang or Lacazette, then Eddie Nketiah and Gabriel Martinelli, are great as they look, but are still too raw at the age they are to be leading the line for a club like Arsenal, so they are going to have to look at another centre forward and, believe it or not, it should be Chris Wood
