Meet The only Nigerian footballer to win EPL player of the month award a record 3 times

The English premiere league have been a home to many notable Nigerian professional footballers since time immemorial.

This notable players ranges from Jay Jay Okocha who played Bolton Wanderers, Kanu Nwankwo Nwankwo who was part of the Arsenal invincible team that did not loose a league match in the 2004 season. John Mikel Obi who one the EPL and the UEFA champions league with Chelsea football club. Odion Jude Ighalo can not be left out because of his heroics with Watford football club.


Three (3) Nigerian professional footballers have won the EPL player of the month award and they are Jay jay Okocha, Osaze Odemwinge and Odion Jude Ighalo

But only one Peter Osaze Odemwinge can boast of winning the Premiere league player of the month award a record three times





Osaze won his 1st player of the month award in September 2010 after joining West Bromwish Albion just a month after from a Russian club side Lokomotiv Moscow

His 2nd player of the month award came in April 2011 while his 3rd accolade came in February 2011 making him the first African player to win the premiere league player of the month award on three occasions but he now shares the record with Liverpool player and Egypt international Mohammed Salah and another Liverpool star from Senegal Sadio Mane


Peter Odemwinge is also the highest goal scorer in a single season for West Bromwish Albion after he netted 15 goals in the 2010-2011 season.
