Arsenal are not having the best of the season. Earlier in the season, they sacked unai emery due to the poor form of Arsenal and appointed their former player, Mikel Aterta as the new coach to take over at the helm as the first team coach.


The Arsenal situation has not really improved since the sack of unai emery, instead it seems to get worse for the gunners.

They were recently knocked out of the Europa League in the round of 32 by Greece club, Olympiacos.


Arsenal are currently 9th position in the premier league and also still have a cup opportunity in the F. A cup.

Although, this season has been bad for Arsenal, but they would be contesting for the top four position next season, if they put some certain things in other.

In this article, I will be writing on the reasons why Arsenal will challenge for the top four position next season.

1. Mikel Aterta's Pattern




During unai emery's time as the head coach of Arsenal, he is known to use a more defensive minded Midfielders, the likes of Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi all together in a match. But since the arrival of Mikel Aterta, he has changed that, using a more attacking Midfielders. He introduced Ozil back in the Arsenal team, pairing Ozil with Xhaka and ceballos.

This gives Arsenal a more attacking instincts, and make Arsenal more dangerous in attack.

2. Signing New Players In The Summer

One major department that Arsenal needs to improve in the team, is the defensive backline. The center back pairing of David Luiz and Socrates has been a disaster this season, they have conceded alot of goals this season.

Arsenal has been link with Rb Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano. If Arsenal could sign the Leipzig defender, and also with the return of William Saliba, on loan from saint Etienne. That should solve the defensive problem of arsenal ahead of next season.

Mikel Aterta also wants to give on loan winger, Henrikh Mkhitaryan a chance at arsenal next season.

3. The progress of Arsenal's academy graduates




The arsenal young stars have been the shining light for arsenal this season, the likes of bukayo saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Nelson etc. Has proved to be ready for first team action for arsenal. They will be introduced into the first team next season and will give the Arsenal team more options next season.
