What Dani Ceballos did during Man United vs Man City ahead of Arsenal's trip to the Etihad

Arsenal midfielder Dani Ceballos was on a mini scouting mission ahead of the Gunners' trip to Manchester City, if social media was anything to go by.


Mikel Arteta's side travel to the Etihad on Wednesday for their rearranged Premier League clash with the reigning champions, after the original fixture was postponed due to City's Carabao Cup final appearance.

City go into the game on the back of a disappointing derby defeat to Manchester United, after the Red Devils picked up a valuable 2-0 victory on Sunday to boost their top four hopes.


Goals from Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay sealed the three points and lifts Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side to fifth in the table, just three points behind fourth placed Chelsea.






The Manchester derby was watched by millions of fans around the world, and one of those interested spectators was none other than Arsenal's Ceballos.

The Real Madrid midfielder, who is on loan at the Emirates until the end of the season, uploaded an image onto his Instagram story during the match.

It showed the Spanish international with his feet up with the match on television, during the first half of the game.

Elsewhere, Ceballos warmed up for the clash against Manchester City in the best possible way, after starting in Arsenal's 1-0 win over West Ham on Saturday.

The Gunners kept their faint top four hopes alive after Alexandre Lacazette's late goal was ruled onside by VAR.

Ceballos, who played alongside Granit Xhaka in Arsenal's midfield, has impressed in recent weeks after his recall to the first team.

But Gunners boss Arteta admits that the club have not held talks about signing the 23-year-old on a permanent basis when his loan deal finishes at the end of the campaign.

"We haven't had any discussions about it," Arteta told reporters last week ahead of the West Ham game.

"I'm really happy with Dani and what he's bringing to the team right now.

"It took him a while after his injury to get to the level that he has and that I've seen in the past.

"He's performing much better now and that's why he's playing much more games."
