Jordan Henderson sends message to N'Golo Kante and other players who refuse to train

The return of the Premier League seems imminent as most top-flight squads have returned to training. However, some players such as Watford's Troy Deeney have refused to come back, citing that it is still too early and unsafe for the game to restart. What's more, our very own N'Golo Kante has felt uneasy about returning to training and is allowed to train from home.

captain Jordan Henderson has spoken out on this sensitive topic, saying that he completely understands the concerns of those who do not want to return yet.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: "I fully respect their opinion and their decision to do that. I think everybody is in a different situation with their family and at home. Ultimately, if you don't feel comfortable or safe, you shouldn't feel forced or pressured to come into work.



"I fully respect the lads that don't feel comfortable as of yet, and I hope that they respect my opinion and that of the other players who have come back.

"Everybody's situation is different but ultimately, for me, I feel very safe here at the training ground, otherwise I wouldn't be here. My team-mates as well.

"I can only really speak for us, but I fully respect people in different situations who don't feel comfortable. If any of my team-mates felt like that, I would fully support them and back them until they felt it was right to come back."

According to ESPN, there's no timescale on N'Golo Kante's return to group training. Frank Lampard and other members of the club hierarchy are understanding of the midfielder's concerns and will not put any pressure on him to return to the Cobham training base.
