Sacked Access bank staff gets reprieve as CBN orders banks to suspend any lay-off plans indefinitely

The Central of Nigeria has rubbished and successfully crucified the shameless Group Managing Director of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe who against good conscience, sound reasoning and proper thinking decided to sack many staff.









The bank had announced plans to sack its workers as a result of the negative impact of the Coronavirus outbreak.


Group Managing Director of Access Bank, Herbert Wigwe, had said that apart from the mass sacking, which would affect about 75 per cent of the bank's workforce, he would take the lead in having the largest pay cut of 40 per cent.

“I will be the first to take the hit and I’m gonna take the largest pay cut, which would be as much as 40 per cent.

Yesterday, a pregnant Access Bank Cashier at Ketu/lkorodu Lagos collapsed after receiving a phone call that she had been sacked. The man decided to temporary shut over 300 branches.

Wigwe had donated 1billion naira to the Federal Govt. I am reliably informed that 1billion naira can pay the salaries of the 75 staff this man dismissed for the next 10 years. The money he paid FG was meant to bribe them and silence them against questioning his irresponsibility.






Herbert Wigwe has become a terror and frightful name to many homes in Nigeria. I am glad that the Central Bank of Nigeria has stopped this man with this letter dated 3rd May. All those who had been sacked by him can now have a sigh of relieve. Your jobs are secured.
