Man United have received approval from the authorities to play friendly matches before resuming their Premier League season later this month.

However, according to the Manchester Evening News, strict measures must be followed before hosting such games. Teams can’t travel more than 90 minutes for a friendly and the players must ride in their own cars.

Moreover, members of the coaching staff will be responsible for officiating games as referees won’t be allowed into these games.

The matches can take place inside stadiums or at training grounds which would be risk assessed before every game. Those involved must test negative for coronavirus beforehand.

The report suggests that Leicester City are planning on hosting Aston Villa in one such game at the King Power Stadium in the forthcoming weekend.
