Chelsea turn down Juventus swap deal but Marina Granovskaia prepared to hold talks

Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

Chelsea have reportedly turned down the chance to take Aaron Ramsey in a swap deal for Jorginho with Juventus, but Marina Granovskaia will continue to negotiate with the Serie A giants. Frank Lampard is expected to make big changes at Chelsea this summer with Kai Havertz likely to follow Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech.

As well as incomings though, Lampard wants to trim down his squad in order to raise funds to improve elsewhere.

Both a goalkeeper and a left-back remain a top priority for Chelsea but a deal for Havertz could potentially take their summer spending to £180million.

Ben Chilwell is a target for the Blues, but Leicester have reportedly slapped an £85m price-tag on the defender.


Both Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri are being linked with moves away from Stamford Bridge, with the latter closing in on a move to Inter Milan.

However, Lampard will likely need to raise more funds in order to go after more targets in the summer.

Jorginho looks set to end his two-year stint in west London with reports suggesting he is pushing for a move back to Italy.

Juventus have emerged as the frontrunners for his signature and are said to be in contact with Granovskaia to try and make a deal happen.


Tutto Mercato Web claim Juventus have already lodged a bid which included former Arsenal midfielder Ramsey.

But the report claims Chelsea turned down the offer as they're only interested in a straight-cash deal.

It is suggested Juventus may look to try and strike a similar deal to the one which saw Juan Cuadrado move to Turin.

Juventus originally signed Cuadrado on a multi-year loan deal with an obligatory clause to buy.

Jorginho has struggled to establish himself as a regular in Lampard's starting line-up since the restart.

The Italian was left out for the first five matches before returning to the side in recent weeks due to an injury to N'Golo Kante.

Chelsea also have young Billy Gilmour who is expected to be given more first-team opportunities next season.

The 19-year-old has impressed in his 11 appearances this campaign but was recently ruled out for three to four months after having knee surgery.
