Premier League Golden Boot race: Danny Ings moves closer to the top, Rashford & Martial join chasing pack

The English Premier League curtains are set to come down next weekend.

Whilst the title is already settled, the race for the Golden Boot will definitely go down to the last match.


Leicester's Jamie Vardy, who leads the standings on 23, did not score on matchday 36, despite his side winning 2-0 at home against Sheffield United.

Instead, it was Southampton's Danny Ings who netted his 20th of the season to move level with Arsenal's Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and to within three goals of the Englishman.


Both players have a chance of winning the boot, with Liverpool's Mohamed Salah too having a shout as he sits on 19 for the season.

Manchester United duo Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial too joined the chasing pack with their goals against Crystal Palace, level with Raul Jimenez, Raheem Sterling, and Sadio Mane on 17.
