Oshiomhole will Re-establish Edo back to APC.



I am happy it is Comrade Oshiomhole that is indeed driving the gathering in the state in front of the governorship political decision. Indeed, even in the primes of the PDP, he won the 192 wards in the 18 LGAs of the state; which had never occurred. Aside his prevalence, he constructed foundation; schools, clinics, markets, streets, name it.

He worked with the great; the awful and the revolting to get results. That was the manner by which he made progress and cemented the APC in Edo State.


All Oshiomhole needed was for him to continue with the formative projects which he began; to bring party people together, so the APC will keep on being an easily recognized name in Edo State.



PDP Governors' Forum Appoints Wike, Bala Chairmen Of Committees.






The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors' Forum has delegated Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State and his Bauchi State partner, Bala Mohammed, as Chairmen of the two new panels the discussion set up on Saturday.







The advisory groups are Legislative Liaison Committee and Legal Affairs Committee.




The arrangements were reported by the gathering during its virtual gathering managed by the Chairman, Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto State.

Ighodalo Backs Obaseki To Win Re-election.






Ituah Ighodalo, Senior Pastor of the Trinity House Church, has sponsored Governor Godwin Obaseki to win the September 19 governorship decisions in Edo State.




Ighodalo, while talking in a radio meeting stated: "I think he (Gov. Obaseki) has a decent possibility of winning the political decision."




He said the representative had buckled down in the state, as the instructive framework had gone up with everyone going electronic at this point.




"The small kids are doing well overall and their folks are exceptionally upbeat and the inhabitants have given him a name, 'wake and see senator.







Breaking: 883 deaths as Nigeria's Covid-19 cases hit 43537





















Nigeria on Saturday has recorded 386 new cases of Covid-19, bringing total now to 43537 with 883 death.




The NCDC made this announcement via its Twitter handle.












Breaking: APC rejoices with Fayemi over recovery from Covid-19












The ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC), has rejoiced with Governor Kayode Fayemi, the Ekiti state governor, over quick recuperation from Covid-19 infection.




According to the party, Fayemi's quick recovery was due to God's intervention since the pandemic had killed so many prominent Nigerians even with better medicare.




The party's publicity secretary disclosed this while speaking with journalists on Saturday evening, urging the citizens of Nigeria to continue to obey all laid down rule and regulations for their own health benefit.




Breaking: Covid-19 cases decreasing in Lagos — Sanwo Olu






Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Lagos state governor said the state has recorded a general decrease in the number of Covid-19 cases in the last two weeks.




Sanwo-Olu, while giving an update on the state's pandemic situation at the state house said, "In the week ending July 26, 2020, we successfully tested close to 90,000 samples in Lagos state across the public and private sector laboratories, a 50 percent increase from the approximately 6,000 samples tested in each of the proceeding two weeks".




He however promised to continue fine-tuning the efforts and strategies in order to build on the successes recovered so far in the fight against the pandemic.

A pro-democracy and human right group have condemned the federal government's proposed plan to construct a 27.3 kilometers perimeter fence round the university of Maiduguri at an exorbitant cost of 64 billion naira.















The group in a press statement made available to journalists said the budgeted amount o money for a 27.3 kilometer perimeter fence round the university of Maiduguri is over bloated, exorbitant and over outrageous.




Breaking: Troops neutralises 80 bandits, arrest 33 in North-West












The Nigeria army on Saturday as said its troops under the operation SAHEL SMITY, had neutralised 80 bandits and arrested 33 suspected bandits in the ongoing clearance operation against banditry in north-west region.




General Benerd Onyeuko, Acting Director of Defence Media Operations, made the disclosure during a news conference at the special Army super camp 4 located at Kastina state.




He however said that they are committed to their work for the restoration of peace to the restive region.




Breaking: Armed gunmen kill village head in Nasarawa












The village head of Odu community, Amo Ewa Obere have been killed by some armed gunmen on Friday night.




The village is located at Ugede development area in Nasarawa local government area of Nasarawa state.




According to the commissioner of police who confirmed the incident, the attack occurred on Friday night, around 10 pm when the gunmen stormed the community and shoot the deceased.




"The leader was rushed to the hospital before his death". He added.




Breaking: Fire engulfs mattress market in Mushin












An inferno razed a mattress market in Mushin Local Government Area of Lagos State on Saturday.




According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, the fire started at about 1pm at 16, Ladipo Street in Mushin.




The Director-General of the agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu said the inferno was put out with great difficulty due to the closely located buildings which fueled the spread of the fire.




Investigation is on to determine the cause of the fire which began at a mattress shop in the area.

The Edo state Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has reaffirmed his government remains committed to economic diversification.




He also assured the state would continue to initiate and implement policies targeted at boosting the agricultural sector and ensuring food security




The Governor, who spoke to journalists in Benin City, said his administration has, in the last three years and eight months, embarked on programmes and reforms created an enabling environment for agricultural businesses to thrive such that more youths and investors could earn a living and create employment.




Breaking: Buhari disown Daura on zoning presidency












The Presidency has dissociated itself from the views expressed by President Muhammadu Buhari’s nephew, Malam Mamman Daura, in a recent interview with the Hausa service of the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC).




According to the Presidency in a statement Saturday night in Abuja, the views and opinions expressed by Daura in the interview, like he reportedly stated, were personally his, and do not represent those of the President or his administration.




Daura had reportedly make comments translated by some other interests across the country to suggest that the north/south rotational pattern, which presumably paved way to the Presidency for President Buhari, would no longer be applicable from 2023 during the interview.




However, the Presidency, in the statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu, noted that besides the fact that Daura’s thoughts were misrepresented in the English translation of the interview, the octogenarian, who had attained the status of a statesman, was exercising his constitutionally guaranteed rights by speaking on issues of national concern.
