Derby 1-2 Preston North: Daniel Johnson scored a 92nd-minute penalty as Preston came from behind to beat Derby County to reach the Carabao Cup third round.


Burton Albion 1-3 Aston Villa: Jack Grealish scored with a fine late volley as Aston Villa came from behind to knock Burton Albion out of the Carabao Cup.Ollie Watkins has scored on his Villa debut.




Millwall 3-1 Cheltenham: Millwall reached the third round of the Carabao Cup with a win over Cheltenham.


Rochdale 0-2 Sheffield Wednesday: Sheffield Wednesday edged past Rochdale to reach the third round of the Carabao Cup.

Bournemouth 0-0 Crystal Palace: Bournemouth beat Crystal Palace 11-10 in an amazing Carabao Cup shootout to set up a third-round tie with Manchester City.




Bradford 0-5 Lincoln City: Lincoln City hammered Bradford City to set up a Carabao Cup third round tie at home to Liverpool.

Morecambe 1-0 Oldham Athletic: Morecambe will host Newcastle in the Carabao Cup third round after knocking out Oldham Athletic.

Newcastle United 1-0 Blackburn Rovers: Ryan Fraser scored on his debut to help Newcastle beat Blackburn Rovers in the Carabao Cup.




Oxford 1-1 Watford: Watford knocked Oxford United out of the Carabao Cup on penalties after scoring late to force the shootout.

Reading 0-1 Luton:Jordan Clark's first goal for Luton was enough to see off Reading and set up a Carabao Cup third-round tie with Manchester United.

There are still nine second-round ties to be played today and Thursday. The third-round is expected to be played in the week of 21 September 2020 and the final takes place on 28 February 2021 at Wembley.
