Northern Group Says The North is Not Part Of EndSARS Protests, Northerners Clap Back(Photos)

In what is seen as an event and protest that has seen Nigerians rise up irrespective of culture, religion and tribe, the EndSARS protest has been gaining weight and spreading like wildfire across the nation and even the international community.


Recently, a Northern group has come out to detribalize the struggle and protests. They wrote to President Muhammadu Buhari and the Inspector Of Police, Mohammed Adamu, saying that they represent the millions of Arewa youth. They were quick to state that the Arewa youths are in no way in support of the EndSARS Movement swaying around the country.


The group named Arewa Youth Consultative Council (AYCC) used their Twitter handle to write to the President and Inspector General of Police. Below is the letter they addressed to the President and Inspector of Police.



This has created lots of controversy on Twitter and some well meaning Arewa youths have clapped back at them dissociating themselves from such organisation stating that they are in support of the movement.


One of the Youths from the North stated that the protest is for the good of the Nigerian Youths and is in no way region specific.






Another handler regretted having involvements with the organisation in the past while rejecting the contents of the letter in its totality.











Another Northern twitter user affirmed that they denounce the group and its operatives and will never identify with them on this their stand.




Lots of tweets, retweets and replies aimed at discrediting the group were constantly coming in.






One said that it is because of people like this that he might not be proud to be called a Northerner and used the hashtag #EndSARSnow.






One even went on to call the number of the youths the organisation mentioned fictitious.
