Now a veteran left back, Marcelo have lost his place in Zinedine Zidane's first xi following the signing of Ferland Mendy.

However, the 32 year old still has much more to offer, and might seek a move away from Real inorder to get more gametime.

Nicolas Tagalificao (Ajax/Argentina)

Tagalificao has been the best left back in the Netherlands eredivisie division for a while now. The 27 year old, Argentine who plays with so much intensity and aggression has seen his performances draw interest from Europe's top clubs.

Unlucky to have missed out on a top 10 rankings.









Ferland Mendy (Real Madrid/France)

A merited place on our list, Ferland Mendy has been a more successful signing than any other player in Real Madrid for two years running.

The french left back has also successfully dislodged Marcelo in Zinedine Zidane's first xi. The 23 year old is only going to get better and better, considering his relative young age.

Still only 25, it's only so long before a top club comes knocking on the door for the 25 year old defender. It'll be interesting to see whether he'll be able to dislodge Serge Reguilon in the Spanish national team.

Guerrero isn't probably a name that will send shivers down one's spine, but the Portuguese left back is one of the best two left backs in the German Bundesliga.

Guerrero has been a mainstay in the Borussia Dortmund team while he has also been a corner stone to the Portuguese national team recent success on the international scene.

Its safe to say the English Premier league has seen a much much improved Luke Shaw in the 2020/2021 season so far.

Who would have believed that Andry Robertson was once plying his trade for relegated Hull city before his move to Liverpool in 2017.

The Scottish born defender who initially struggled at Anfield has hit the ground running in recent years and is considered by many to be the best left back in the world.
