A Nigerian man has taken to his Twitter account and narrate the experience he had with Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) around 4 am after they allegedly broke into his apartment and arrested him on gunpoint.

The man identified as Rotimi said that day was the beginning of his nightmare because he thought they were armed robbers based on their mode of operations, but he later realized it was EFCC when he saw their jackets.


Rotimi stated that he was calm after seeing their jacket, but not knowing he was automatically a suspect for owing a laptop and Android phones. He revealed that they collected his iPhone, Android phone and Itel phone and moved him to one of their office at Ibadan.


Getting to their office, they snapped him pictures alongside with other people they arrested and uploaded it online without proper investigation. Rotimi stated that his heart was broken because his image has been ruined, just because he owned a laptop and an Android phone.

He was later handed over to an investigation officer who searches his phone again and found nothing incriminating. Rotimi went forward and disclosed that after the investigation, they gave him an outrageous bailing condition which he later meets after spending two days on their cell.


Upon getting home, he realized that his apartment was robbed again after EFCC broke into it and left it open. He claimed that he lost his plasma television, food stocks and appliances.

Nigerians who came across the touching story shared by Rotimi are reacting to it. Those who commented are expressing sympathy and disappointment over that happened to the young man. They are on the opinion that EFCC should come out and counter the claim.
