EPL team 'makes fun' of the US Elections after climbing to top of table for the first time

It's yet another Football weekend, and as usual some European major league matches were played yesterday Friday. Among the matches played were two from the English premier league; Brighton Vs Burnley which ended 0:0 and Southampton vs Newcastle, where Southampton won 2:0.

That single win has now pushed them to the top of the premier League table for the first time ever in their 135 years of being founded.

Goals from Che Adams and and an 82nd minute strike from Stuart Adams helped made this feat possible for the club.





Although they know not to get their hopes too high, seeing as the other teams in the league still have outstanding matches and either Liverpool, Leicester or Tottenham may knock them out of the top at the end of the weekend games.

That notwithstanding, they're still making sure to savour the moment which has come for the first time in their history.






The English club also took to their official Twitter page out of excitement to post the latest EPL table and even used the chance to make a little fun of the US elections.

They captioned the picture "Stop the count', a phrase that Donald Trump's protesters have been using in protests and on Social media after it's becoming seemingly clear that the Republican is on track to lose the election to Biden.
