Hours After Oliseh Metuh (PDP Chieftain) Was Released, See What FFK Said That Got Mixed Reactions

It was in the news yesterday that a People's Democratic Party (PDP) Chieftain, Olisah Metuh regained his freedom after 4 years of battling his trial in the court. The former spokesperson of the PDP finally got justice as he is now free to mingle again with family and friends after 4 years of long trial.

However, from an earlier report, in February 2020, Olisa Metu was convicted and sentenced to 39 years in jail for money laundering to the tune of N400 million and corruption charges. Presiding over the case, Justice Okon Abang of the Federal High Court in Abuja jailed the PDP Chieftain.





Metuh was accused of a seven-count charge and was found guilty of the crime. The money was said to have come from Office of the National Security Adviser in 2014 and was spent in 2015 during the election campaign for his party and for personal purposes. Also, in that charge, Metuh was convicted for doing transactions of $2 million in cash without going through a financial institution.



News reaching us at the moment is that Fani Kayode, a former Aviation Minister during President Goodluck Jonathan's administration has celebrated with Metuh after his release. This was made public when FFK shared a tweet on his verified twitter account. He was quoted saying,

“Discharged and acquitted by the Court of Appeal. Congratulations to my friend and brother Olisa Metuh."
