Reactions As NANS President Threatens To Shutdown Private Universities

The ongoing ASUU strike has been lingering for about 9 months now with FG and ASUU holding numerous marathon meetings to end the strike. Though students of most public Universities are at home due to this strike, their counterparts in Private Universities are in school recieving lectures, thereby giving them an edge over those in Public Universities.

However, the National Association Of Nigerian Students（NANS）new president, Sunday Asefon has threatened to shut down all Private Universities should the ASUU strike persist. This information was shared by Punch Newspaper via their Twitter handle





According to the report, Mr Asefon said that NANS will engage both FG and ASUU to finalise negotiations between the two parties. He also said that if the strike doesn't end after engaging FG and ASUU, they will be forced to close down private Universities.

This information has sparked mixed reactions from members of the public with someone calling it a 'misplaced priority'.
