"It Seems To Me That Jack Fears Me More Than The US President" - Adamu Garba Brags On Twitter

As the whole world is currently grappling with the permanent ban of Trump on Twitter, former Nigerian presidential candidate, Adamu Garba, has expressed his displeasure over the unfortunate development.






In a series of tweets which were shared via his Twitter handle, Adamu Garba gave his opinions on the shocking development. In one of the tweets, he said that what happened to Trump is unfortunate, adding that it is saddening that a whole president of the United States could be suspended as if he's a common criminal from platform companies just because they do not agree with his stands on issues. He also felt shocked that some people are celebrating Trump's ban.







He further added that what happened to Trump is going to happen to anyone who does not agree with the beliefs of these platform companies.







Adamu Garba came under discussions on Twitter after Trump's ban, the reason being that sometime last year, the former presidential candidate had filed a lawsuit against the CEO of Twitter, Jack Dorsey, because of the role he played for the Nigerian youths during the #EndSARS protest.






The #EndSARS protest had garnered support and solidarity from numerous international figures, including the CEO of Twitter. Jack had called for bitcoin donations from the public to support the #EndSARS movement.

As a result of that, Adamu Garba had filed a lawsuit against Jack Dorsey for supporting #EndSARS movement, and had asked that Twitter be banned in Nigeria, and that Jack should be made to pay the sum of one billion dollars to the Nigerian government for damages caused.







The ban on Trump suddenly made several Nigerians to remember the lawsuit Adamu Garba had filed against Jack. They said that if Jack could have the powers to ban the president of the United States, then it wouldn't be a big deal for him to also ban Adamu Garba from the platform. Many also tagged Adamu Garba to their tweets, and asked him what later became the outcome of the lawsuit.






In his reply to one of the tags, Adamu Garba said that Jack Dorsey has bosses who asked him to take the action. He said that Jack is not cultured, because if he were, he would not suspend a man who is old enough to be his father.






He also said that the lawsuit he filed against Jack in the wake of the #EndSARS protest actually worked, because he was able to make Jack stop tweeting to seek funds for the support of #EndSARS. He concluded by saying that it seems to him that Jack Dorsey fears him more than the United States President Donald Trump.






Also in another tweet, he said that it is now clear that sometimes Nigerian citizens can be more powerful than the President of the United States, but all we need in the country is unity and agreement in principles. He cited that Jack Dorsey had run away from the lawsuit he filed against him because he knew the consequences that were involved. He added that the lawsuit could have had him removed as the CEO of Twitter if it had escalated. He said that Jack knew it, that was the reason he tried to avoid it.






On Wednesday, Twitter had temporarily banned Trump from posting on the platform. This wasn't disconnected from the protest that broke out at the US Capitol a few days ago, which Trump was accused of instigating through his statements. Other social media platforms - Facebook and Instagram - had also followed suit, and placed ban on him.






But on Saturday, Trump's Twitter account was deleted permanently, thereby stopping him from posting on the platform.

Many have condemned the move, describing it as an attempt to censor the right to freedom of speech.
