Lenglet expected to return from injury for Dortmund showdown (Marca)

Ernesto Valverde has left Clement Lenglet out of Barcelona's squad for the game against Leganes on Saturday, after the Frenchman felt a mild discomfort while playing for his country.

However, the former Sevilla centre-back is expected to be available for Wednesday's Champions League encounter against Borussia Dortmund.

Gerard Pique, on the other hand, is suspended and he won't feature in the match with the Bundesliga side.

In the event Lenglet doesn't manage to fully recover, Barcelona's centre-back duo will consist of Samuel Umtiti and Jean-Clair Todibo.

Valverde doesn't want to risk an injury setback for the 24-year-old defender, who featured in both of France's games during the international break.

In the meantime, the former Athletic Club tactician is unable to call on either of Nelson Semedo or Jordi Alba, as they are both sidelined due to injuries, although there is a chance that the latter will recover on time for the European encounter.

If Barcelona beat the German side, they will secure qualification to the next round yet, in the event of a defeat at the Camp Nou, the Catalans' progression to the top 16 would be on the line on Matchday 6.
