Love! I Was 25, He Was 22, Couldn’t Even Afford To Take Me, Ondo First Lady Narrates Romance Story With Hubby

The First Lady of Ondo State, Mrs Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu is older than her husband by three years, The Gazelle News.com can report.

However, The Gazelle News.com reports, their union has proved that age is no barrier to love as their love story continues to wax stronger till today.

This medium can also report that Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu could not even afford to take then girlfriend now wife out when they first met in Enugu as youth corps members.

“We met 37 years ago in Enugu, then we were both youth corps members serving in the then Anambra State,” Mrs Akeredolu narrated.

The Gazelle News.com gathered that it was love at first sight for the now celebrity couple.

What attracted him to her?

“I fell in love with his broad shoulders. Then he was really looking very cute. I can still remember what he was wearing that day – a red shirt, long sleeves and jeans trousers. That was 37 years ago. He couldn’t even take me out because he didn’t have money as a youth corper.

“It was quite magnetic and that was it.

There is a 3-year age difference between us. I am older than him anyway. I was like 25 then while he was 22. It was love that really endured,” she said.

According to her, rather than go for a self made man, she went for the man who could not even afford to take her out because she believes in building her own home.

“I have always known that there was no way I could have married a self-made man. I will better build a home from the scratch with you because I want to have a say in my home,” the Ondo First Lady narrated, giving reasons for not marrying a self made man.
