The Only Nigeria Governor That Still Uses His Personal Car Instead Of Spending Billions On New Cars

One of the first thing a new governor does is to purchase cars. Not just any how cars. But an exotic and sophisticated cars with high-technology that will cost hundreds of million of Naira. Some of the cars they purchase are customised. And they would use it for few years, and then get new ones. The reason many give for purchasing such cars are for security, durability, comfort. The cars they purchase ranges between N50m to N350m. Due to their work, they need good cars but not at the amount they claim to buy the cars.



The only governor that is still yet to buy sophisticated cars even though he has the capacity as a governor to buy many, is Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde, the governor of Oyo State.










Governor Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde is still using the cars he had before he became a governor.

According to punch, his reason for not wanting to spend so much in purchasing cars is to be able to pay salaries. So he is trying to cut down cost of governance. He continued that he is still driving his personal car and he did not approve new car to be purchased for the officials in his administration.






This is a great and humble decision by a governor that cares for the welfare of his people.

He is the only governor to have come out publicly to say that he still uses his personal car.
