On Monday 9th, Kano stood still has the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido is deposed by the Governor of the day, Umar Ganduje. He was reportedly sacked He was deposed for displaying insubordination to the authorities in the northern state of Kano.

Since his deposition on Monday Afternoon, the State has received a new emir onto the throne. The new Emir of Kano is now Ado Bayero, son of late Emir, Ado Bayero.


Different uproars have enveloped social media especially Twitter since the crisis commenced yesterday. Some opinions averred that such event which happened in Kano cannot surface in Benin City as they believe that Culture, Traditions and the Royal Seat cannot be tampered with by any Governor who is not prepared to face the wrath of the gods. Also, some revealed that a development of this kind would never stand in Oyo State where the Alaafin of Oyo is the reign supreme as the King.

Amidst these conversations, a twitter user, Akin Akinwale (@mrlurvy) posted the picture of the Alaafin with a Yoruba Language caption "A NI YA WERE ooo" which directly means that "May we not suffer lunacy". In no time, several twitter users have started camping in Akinwale's comment section in order to drop hilarious Yoruba Language comments on Alaafin's picture.
