Unlucky Liverpool and Leeds' - Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham fans react to FA announcement

Fans from Premier League clubs have been reacting to the news that the Football Association has brought tiers three to seven of the National League System to an end, with results so far this term expunged.


The decision to cancel the rest of the season means there will be no promotion or relegation for clubs between NLS steps three to six, and no promotion to NLS step two. These decisions will also apply to the leagues and clubs who play at NLS step seven.


The FA remains in discussions with the National League regarding steps one and two, the former of which offers promotion to the EFL and is aiming to determine the outcome of the 2019/20 season as soon as possible.

In a statement, the FA said: “The NLS and the women’s football pyramid were able to build a consensus amongst their leagues and, where possible, aimed to create a consistent approach across all leagues, whilst taking into account the unique characteristics of each individual league.
