"I am sorry" - Popular Nigerian comedian AY apologizes to Nigerians following controversial tweet

Ayodeji Richard Makun also known as AY, is a popular Nigerian comedian, actor, radio and TV presenter, producer and director.


The comedian was trolled on Twitter yesterday following his tweet about Funke Akindele who was arrested by the police yesterday. The comedian seem to be in support of her actions despite her violating the lockdown order.

The tweet AY shared on Twitter yesterday that got different reactions from his followers read "YES! NOBODY IS ABOVE THE LAW. BUT I WISH THOSE OF YOU WHO CALLED OUT @funkeakindele CAN DO SAME WITH YOUR COUNTLESS OPPRESSORS IN GOVERNMENT... EVEN WHEN THE SKY IS FILLED WITH CLOUDS THE SUN STILL SHINES ABOVE. FUNKE WILL RISE AGAIN."







Nigerians were not really happy with the comedian tweet yesterday and headed for the comment section to drop their opinions on the issue.











But as of today, the comedian have apologized to all his followers on twitter as regarding the tweet he shared yesterday.

The comedian took to twitter this evening to apologise to his fans. He shared a tweet which read "TWITTERIANS ABEG NA! SINCE YESTERDAY MY CHEST HAS BEEN PAINING ME WITH NO APPETITE 4 FOOD.THE INSULTS ARE TOO MUCH.CAN YOU ALL JUST REDUCE MY SENTENCE TO JOINING @funkeakindele FOR COMMUNITY SERVICE AND SELF ISOLATION FROM TWITTER FOR 14 DAYS? I AM SORRY. UNA PITY PERSON PAPA NA."
