"Lagos Have 120 COVID-19 Cases, Your State Have Just 1, Yet You Want Money" Nigerians Frown at Wike

Rivers Governor, Nyesom Wike has attacked the Federal Government of Nigeria under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari for giving 10 billion naira to Lagos State while he gets nothing.
Nigerians have reacted in their numbers, frowning at the governor by stating the fact that Lagos has 120 cases of COVID-19 while Rivers has just 1.





So many Nigerians who heard about this news, have felt unbelievable that the matter of money sharing is what we are now talking about in the face of the fight against the deadly virus called COVID-19.

Governor Wike Laments in his statement that why will Rivers not be given COVID-19 relief fund just like 10 billion naira was given to Lagos State.

He asked if Lagos is the only state affected by the Coronavirus Pandemic that is making the federal government of Buhari give them so much while Rivers State is being overlooked.

He felt every state of the federation should have their own share of the support funds and not just Lagos.

Although the federal government under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari has not responded to Nyesom Wike's accusations, Nigerians on the internet have had their say.

Many feel that the COVID-19 is being politicised in the country at this point.

Some believe that Nyesom Wike shouldn't have come out publicly seeking funds from the federal government when Rivers has just a single case of COVID-19 compared to Lagos with 120 cases already as at the time of writing this.






However, some of his followers think there is a point in what Wike is saying and they are also calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to give a portion of the COVID-19 funds to the state.
