See Pep Guardiola' s message from Marcus Rashford, Yaya Toure, others as mother succumbs to COVID-19

It is a very sad and gloomy day indeed for The Premier League in England, and even more especially for current League Champions, Manchester City as their multiple award-winning and hugely decorated Manager, Pep Guardiola's mother Dolors Sala Carriótoday, April 6, 2020, succumbed to the cold hands of death after contracting COVID-19.






Breaking the news not long ago today, Manchester City, via their official Twitter handle, released the below statement: "The Manchester City family are devastated to report the death today of Pep’s mother Dolors Sala Carrió in Manresa, Barcelona after contracting Corona Virus. She was 82-years-old .







Everyone associated with the club sends their most heartfelt sympathy at this most distressing time to Pep, his family and all their friends.

Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak has spoken in reaction to the tragic passing of Pep’s mother, saying, “Our prayers and heartfelt sympathies are with Pep and his family at this overwhelmingly sad time. He and they have the love and support of the entire City family.”






And, just as one would expect any logical and rational human being to do at such a tragic and sad time as this, England International and Manchester United's super talented Forward, Marcus Rashford was quick to join the horde of fans, supporters, friends, foes and rivals alike, who have thronged under the announcement to pay their respects and offer the condolences to Pep Guardiola and his family in their dark hour.






Rashford also took to his Twitter page to pass this very simple but timely message across: "My condolences".






Some Premier League clubs have also issued official statements via their Twitter pages in support of Pep Guardiola and Manchester City at this hard period, but another notable player who also showed a lot of class by reaching out to him is his former player (at FC Barcelona and also at Manchester City), ex-Ivorian International midfield dynamo, Yaya Toure.

Toure wrote: "RIP. Condolences and thoughts with all the family"






You may recall that Pep Guardiola and Yaya Toure had always reportedly never seen eye-to-eye, both at Barcelona and subsequently at City, before the Ivorian was forced out of City too, like he allegedly was by Guardiola at Barca as well. Toure currently plays for Chinese Super League club Qingdao Huanghai.
