Covid19: Nigerian students in Anambra state builds automated disinfectant walkway tunnel (Photos)

Students of the Archbishop Heerey Technical college in Anambra State have built an automated disinfectant tunnel walkway. This walkway serves to disinfect whoever passes through it and saves the time of manually going through the rigors of being disinfected.

While passing through the tunnel, a visitor is sprayed with a disinfectant solution coming out of a high-pressure air compressor.

The ravaging coronavirus pandemic has seen all sectors of the economy shut down, with the educational sector also affected. Schools in Nigeria are currently on break and there is no telling how soon they'd be resuming. However, it appears that there's light at the end of the tunnel in the fight against the deadly virus.




The system was first developed by Professor Mihir Sarangi, who is a Mechanical Engineer in India's Institute of technology and a chunk of his learned colleagues.

The Nigerian students that partook in the construction of this tunnel must be acknowledged and commended for their efforts. If properly modified and checked, this could be used in not just schools but offices to screen and disinfect people before they are allowed to enter certain premises.

The appropriate authorities must verify the efficacy of this tunnel and check how it could be used as the lockdown is still being eased off.
