Can You Remember Daniel Ricky Who Hid in a Plane Tyre in Edo State? See His Recent Pictures

Arik flight, W3 544 would just have been another plane landing at Lagos airport. But on that 24 August 2013, a 13-year-old boy named Daniel Ricky Ohikhena hid from Benin, Edo state to Lagos, in the wheel of Arik aircraft, thinking the plane was bound for America. He was detained at Murtala Mohammed Airport's local side, Lagos, and eventually taken back to Benin.

The boy who said his ambition was to be a pilot and decided to have his own cockpit in the airplane's tyre said he had hoped to land in America but was surprised and disappointed that the aircraft had landed only in Lagos. With the attention that attracted his action nationwide, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, the then governor of Edo state, requested that the boy be brought to him. Either out of pity for him or out of love for his ambition or ingenuity, the governor decided to adopt him and offered him a university-level scholarship, contrary to fears that the boy might face disciplinary actions that had embarrassed the state.


The boy is now matured and now at the university.
