Do Oyo State People Wish Ajimobi Dead? See Reactions As Man Requests Prayers for Ajimobi on Twitter

Former Governor of Oyo State, Governor Abiola Ajimobi has been battling with the Coronavirus for about two weeks now. Yesterday, there were reports his condition became more critical has he was reported to be admitted in an undisclosed hospital in Lagos state.





Following this, his aides and family members took to social media to plead with people to say prayers for the former Governor. However, it seems there are more people happy about his condition than those who are sad.


Reactions from social media users especially those from Oyo state suggests they feel what Ajimobi is experiencing is karma. Ajimobi, while serving as Oyo Governor was perceived as a dictator and authoritarian. His strict way of governance earned him the title "constituted authority".



Also, many students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology blame Ajimobi for keeping them away from school for a long time as he refused to pay lecturers salaries during his tenure. For sometime in Oyo state, teachers also suffered the same fate and were not paid salaries for months.


Ajimobi was however not all bad. He brought a stop to the popular political unrest in the state. He also initiated and completed major road constructions in his eight years of serving as Governor.


Moreover, I believe irrespective of how he might have behaved or ruled during his tenure, is it enough to wish him dead? Where is out humanity? Do two wrongs now make a right?


Ajimobi wasn't the best diplomat or governor, yet I believe he had the best interest of Oyo state at heart during his tenure, maybe he couldn't deliver it well, yet it's not enough to wish him dead.









Ajimobi is currently fighting for his life and the reactions to his condition on twitter is quite sad. People seem not to care about his condition and only want to discuss the mistakes he has made in the past. Some people are even praying his situation worsens.


This isn't humanity, we are all humans and there should be empathy for our fellow human. I beg you, I'm not his fan or anything, I'm only human. Please drop a prayer for Ajimobi and wish him quick recovery.
