Fake Certificate: Edo State Governor Obaseki, in hot water for presenting fake academic certificates

Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki is in hot water as various proofs have shown that the academic certificates he presented to the relevant authorities before becoming Governor are all questionable.




In his first degree certificate, there is no date of graduation, the signatures are different, no registrar signature, it says 'Admitted' instead of 'Awarded', two different logos, and no heading indicating 'This is to Certify'. Obaseki before now, revealed that he studied Classics at the University of Ibadan for 3 years between '1973 - '1976 in a court affidavit. But his certificate said he graduated in 1979. The questions is: When did he gain admission and when did he graduate? This is a puzzle no one seem able to solve.







The discoveries establish possible forgery, manipulation, evasion, and appropriation of data. The APC must act decisively because who will take the words of this man as weighty and honest when his academic record is subject to serious debate? From available evidence, it is clear that a lot does not add up in the academic credentials of Obaseki and to avoid the repeat of another Bayelsa, the APC better replace him quietly.






Apart from Obaseki, we don't know of anyone else in history who sat for five subjects at the A-Level examination. Everyone else took four subjects, including the General-paper. Sadly, every time Obaseki is challenged on the inconsistencies of his certificates, another one is presented to cover the gaping holes and this leads to more questions than answers.





Now the begging question is this; Did Obaseki even go to school, because his supposed degree from the University of Ibadan has two conflicting graduation dates of 1976 and 1979 and his A-Level testimonial said he sat for 5 subjects instead of the usual 4. This scandal is something that calls for a comprehensive investigation because how can one man claim to graduate from the same university multiple times with different certificates?
