If you have not visited Ibadan for a long time especially if you have been locked down in another state due to COVID-19, you may not recognise the popular Iwo Road Interchange at your return. Iwo road links important places such as Lagos, Oyo, Ife, Ede, and others. It is an unavoidable route for motorists and travelers who ply the road on a daily basis.

Despite the ravaging coronavirus, Iwo road is as busy as beforetime. The unavoidability of the road has always caused congestion for both the motorists and motorcyclists. Even the pedestrians often have difficulty navigating through the sea of vehicles that usually block the road.

The governor of Oyo state, Eng. Seyi Makinde promised to reconstruct the road within one year with N8 billion. The governor is making good of his promise as it can been noticed from the pace at which the contractors are working on the project.

Residential buildings, shops, shopping complexes, kiosks and a mosque have been demolished to create room for the ultramodern Interchange. The owners of the properties would be first to be considered when the project is completed, according to the governor.
