Man City confirm Pep Guardiola's former boss Juanma Lillo as assistant manager

Former Oviedo, Tenerife, Zaragoza and Real Sociedad boss Manuel Lillo has joined Manchester City as Pep Guardiola's assistant

Manchester City have announced that Juanma Lillo has joined the club as Pep Guardiola's No.2.

Lillo replaces Mikel Arteta who left the Etihad to take the reins at Arsenal earlier this season.

The 54-year-old Spaniard joins from Chinese side Qingdao Huanghai, who he led to the Chinese League One title.

He previously managed Guardiola towards the end of the City boss's playing career at Mexican side Dorados de Sinaloa.
Lillo has also managed Oviedo, Tenerife, Zaragoza and Real Sociedad during his long coaching career, as well as acting as assistant at Chile and Sevilla.
