Matteo Guendouzi in the books of Spanish giants – Arsenal set to make their decision

After a brilliant first team, Matteo Guendouzi has struggled this term around to retain his level of performance, like most of the Arsenal players. His frustration showed on the pitch after an heated altercation with Brighton players, following their loss.

As per reports earlier, Mikel Arteta is not all pleased by the midfielder’s recent comments post the Brighton match, where he allegedly called “ s***”. The altercation of Matteo Guendouzi and Neal Maupay was believed to be about the earnings of the players from each club. Mesut Ozil is the highest earner at the north London club with £350,000-a-week, while the Seagull’s wage ceiling is around £50,000-a-week.

Guendozi has featured 24 times in the Premier League this season, having just a couple of assists to his name. But the Frenchman’s behaviour was not at all taken lightly by his boss, and he is tipped to be offloaded in the summer. Now reports in France claims that Spanish giants are keeping a tab on the 21-year-old’s current situation.



According to French publication Le 10 Sport Real Madrid and Barcelona are both interested in the player, whose current contract expires in 2022. Sergio Busquets has entered the thirties, and have a few more seasons left in him. The French international would be a natural , heir to the World Cup winner’s crown at Camp Nou.

On the Contrary, their counterparts Real Madrid have Casemiro operating from a deeper position and is considered as one of ,the best currently in his position. But it is believed that Zinedine Zidane is a huge admirer of his countryman and could even opt to play him ,ahead of the Brazilian in the starting eleven. But there are doubts over the possibility of a deal.


If indeed Arteta wants Matteo Guendouzi out of his squad, he is more than likely to be sold. It might well provide them, the needed money to buy their probable targets. But in a troubled market with the form the midfielder has had this term, there can be questions over how much the Gunners could be able to get for the promising youngster.
