Twitter Users Drag Pretty Hausa Woman For Accusing Nollywood Stars Of Twisting Islam In Movies

Maryam Ado is a wife, humanitarian, bibliophile, glass artist, interior designer, style agent and a consultant just to mention a few(as seen on her Twitter account). She is an Hausa Woman who hails from the North.

She dropped a controversial Tweet on her Twitter handle, which is currently causing uproar on the micro-blogging platform.

Maryam, as she is fondly called, has been getting series backlashes to her Tweet.

She said Nollywood Actresses and Actors should stop producing make-belief films most especially those involving Muslin women getting married to non-muslim men and making Muslim-men in such movies appear as beasts.

She finally said, that in Islam, Muslims hardly complain of anything.

I can see some people finally used all night yesterday to figure out how best to come under this tweet and hyperventilate, good for you all. All I’m saying is you don’t have to want to change another’s religion before you accept them as part of you.

Frankly, if the only way you can accept someone as part of you is by trying to tweak the religion they practice to agree with your emotions, you’re the one whose intolerant and not Maryam. I have look inwards, have you? There’s nothing I’ve said here that’s intolerant!

There’s nothing I’ve said here that’s preaching a divided Nigeria; one of d reasons why we have a divided Nigeria is because movies like this try to portray the doctrines of some religions as being wrong forgetting it’s only for those who choose it, and they’re not complaining.

All I’m saying is LIVE AND LET OTHERS LIVE; if you can not love anyone wholly, then you don’t love them at all. Don’t come and make me the problem, I’m not. Thank you and God bless you. And bye!
