Bukayo Saka sends message to Mikel Arteta over playing out of position

The wonderkid has been used as a left-back, left-winger, central midfielder and right-winger this season.

He insists he is too young to tell Mikel Arteta where he should put him.

Bukayo is delighted to feature in the first team and play for his boyhood team.

He is happy his goal lifted Arsenal to the crucial victory against Wolves.


Bukayo Saka has been switching positions after breaking into the first-team setup, having literally played left, right and centre as Mikel Arteta continues experimenting with him across various roles.

However, the youngster insists he is not in a position to dictate his terms to the head coach as he is just 18 years and it's his first season in professional football.

"Like I generally state, it's only a fantasy to play for Arsenal. I'm just 18 and I originated from the institute and I'm simply upbeat that the manager is putting me out on the pitch," the man who played on the conservative against Wolves said after the game.




"He's demonstrated such a great amount of confidence in me so any place he picks me, I simply need to give my everything. I can't generally nail him down to reveal to him which position I need to play. I'm as yet appreciative to play."

Previously, Mikel Arteta said the decision to deploy the whizkid who recently signed a new contract on the right side of the attack came straight after he had received the news Nicolas Pepe won't be available for the Molineux clash due to family reasons.

The Spaniard admitted Bukayo felt a bit lost in the first 20 minutes but praised the youngster's overall effort as he broke the deadlock in the first half.

"It is true that in the first half he had some moments where he struggled but then he started understanding things better after 20 minutes," Arteta said after the game.

"He scored a really good goal but I really liked the way he kept trying and trying and trying rather than putting his head down and being disappointed."

While this has been a great week for the youngster as he admitted after the game, the Gunners recorded spectacular back-to-back victories, having elevated their hopes of European qualification.

Bukayo's goal against Wolves brought us three points but it was a personal milestone for the 18-year-old as it was his first in the top flight.

"We play this competition so much," Saka said of the Premier League. "This competition is probably the one that means the most to us right now so I'm just so happy to get the goal and help my team get the win."
