Reconsider your action, Don-Jazzy cries out, as FG made strange law against the poor. See the laws.

Earlier this year, Lagos State government placed ban on all passenger oriented commercial motorcycles, the ban which also affected branded commercial motorcycles like Oride, Gokada and the likes.

However, most of the branded commercial motorcycles has gone into logistic service rendering (dispatch rider) as a means of survival.

The Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) introduced a new law that guides the activities of logistic service in the country.


These guidelines are so unbearable that Don-Jazzy popular Nigerian figure had to call on federal government to reconsider the law. 

The law which was titled Process for a Grant of courier and logistic licence. The six approved categories are;

1. Write an application on company's letterhead to; The Post Master General of the Federation/CEO, Nipost Corporate Headquarter, Garki II, Abuja.

ATTENTION; GM, (courier and logistic regulatory department)

2. Attache Evidence or Information that to show Capacity:

Certificate of Incorporation, Memorandum and Article of Association, Business Plan and Business Profile, Professional Indemnity Insurance Policy or Goods in Transit Insurance, Evidence of Tax Clearance, Evidence of Capital, and Evidence of facility, and office location details etc.

3. Evidence of Payment for:

Application Form and Regulatory Guidelines (20,000),

The Specific Category of courier/logidtic license;

1. Category of license (International ), Fee for new license (20,000,000.00), Renewal (8,000,000.00)

2. Category of license (National), Fee for new license (10,000,000.00), Renewal (4,000,000.00)

3. Category of license (Regional), Fee for new license (5,000,000.00), Renewal (2,000,000.00)

4. Category of license (State), Fee for new license (2,000,000.00), Renewal (800,000.00)

5. Category of license (Municipal), Fee for new license (1,000,000.00), Renewal (400,000.00)

6. Category of license (Special SME), Fee for new license (250,000.00), Renewal (100,000.00)

These guidelines does not look fair to Don-Jazzy that he had to respond to the new law on Twitter, saying, This wasn't well thought out, I must say. It would only aggravate the struggles of many young Nigerians. How do we encourage them to be involved in economic building if we initiate policies that would hamper their businesses. The FG and NipostNgn need to reconsider.
