One thing we cannot deny as Nigerians, is that the wrongdoings of few Nigerians have portrayed us in bad light among other foreign nations. And one of the ways we can change that, is to begin to promote Nigerians who are making exceptional impacts around the world.

That is why this short piece is dedicated to Emmanuella Oziofu Mayaki, a 10 year old Nigerian tech-genius who was recently hired as a coding instructor at Southfield primary school, Coventry, England.





Miss Emmanuella, born 7th January, 2009, started school in Benin city, Edo state. She moved to Lagos to continue her education and now presently an instructor/pupil of a UK school.






According to her dad, Mr John Mayaki, at age 7, she was very eager to know more about computer that he sometimes share his computer with her. During the summer holidays, He then decides to enrol her at a computer training program in Benin where she learnt web designs and other basic computer knowledge.






Today, having acquired more knowledge about coding and computer programming, her dream according to her is “to become a machine learning engineer because I have experience in programming and my job is to program a machine to perform specific tasks".






Some of her achievements include:

Launching her first mobile app, Emma's ICT academy at age 9 App is available on playstore.

As at 2019, She has produced more than 10 websites. Both static and dynamic.

She is an expert in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, WordPress, PHP, MySQL, Graphic Design, Java and Python.

Employed as a coding instructor in a UK school at just 10 years old.





At just 10 years, and with all these achievements, my prayers for her and other talented Nigerians like her who may not have come to the limelight yet, is that more notable achievements will come their way, and they will continue to do us proud wherever they find themselves.
