Well, what Peter asked gained the attention of mechanical engineers and that of generator users as they are currently airing their view. Few people who commented said, placing the fuel valve half ways doesn't minimize fuel consumption but affect the life span of the generator.

A engineer identified as Zaza said technically in engineering, what is stated above doesn't minimize fuel consumption. He also stated that minimizing of fuel consumption can only be done at the carburetor and not at the fuel valve.

Nevertheless, Others disclosed that it works for them while many where in the opinion that it's only poverty that can make one think like that.
