Mammals that lay egg sure you've not heard of number 2 before

Good day guys, today in going to share a very important article and information with you. I've gone far and wide to research about these incredible mammals that most of us don't know about yet.

I know it sounds weird but there are only two mammals that lay egg and they are the DUCK - BILLED PLATYPUS and the ECHIDNA.

First let's start with the platypus.







Platypus are a semi aquatic egg laying mammal found in eastern Australia. They are one of the most scarce animals on the planet. This might even be the first time you're hearing of it,but they are very unique and they possess very good qualities.

Here are some facts about them:

1. They don't have stomachs. They have gullets that connect directly to their intestines.

2. The male species have venomous spurs on the back of their hind feet that is connected to a venom secreting gland.

3. They nurse their babies without nipples. Their milk is released out of mammary gland ducts located on their abdomen.

4. They have retractable webbings .




5. They find food by feeling and by detecting electrical signals.

Scientists first thought they were a victim of hoax. They have a duck's bill and webbed feet, a beaver's tail and an otter's body and fur.

The ECHIDNA have spines like a porcupine, beak like a bird and a pouch like a kangaroo's





They're classified into four different types:

1. Short beaked Echidna






2. Eastern long beaked Echidna





3. Western long beaked Echidna.





4. Sir David's long beaked Echidna






The male species have a four headed penis. During mating, two of the head shut down while two of the remaining go into the two sided vagina of the female species.

Just like the platypus, they also don't have nipples. They're indeed an amazing species.
