OLAMIDE's new N218M Lamborghini and funny reactions from Nigerians (Pictures)

The Nigerian entertainment industry/nollywood is booming day by day. In my opinion, I feel, it is the richest entertainment industry in Africa. Our top musicians, artists, actors and actresses are making millions of naira every month and living extravagantly(positively and negatively). These guys own expensive mansions in Lagos, Los Angeles, Dubai, South Africa, and even London! Recently, Davido was reported to have purchased a mansion in Banana Island, the most expensive island in West Africa. And not just mansions, they own exotic cars too! Few days ago, Nigerian rapper and Afro-pop singer, Olamide, a.k.a Baddo, was reported to have bought a brand new N218 million Lamborghini Aventador. This came as a big surprise to many people as the artist didn't make any official announcement as is usually expected of celebrities. In the words of his fans, "Olamide is humble" and maintains a "low-key" lifestyle. This has consequently led fans(including myself) to showering him with praises and love. I do admire celebrities who aren't "noisemakers"!



However, the arrival of the Lambo has interestingly also inspired some negative reactions from Nigerians. Some Nigerians feel the purchase is as a result of a misplaced priority. Some complain that the money is too much for a car (that could crash or break down any day). Funnily, some use the car to mock the issue of classism in the country, while others say the money would have done well if it were invested in charity, to help poor Nigerians. The most savage of all reactions was that of a young man who said the car is fake. The user indirectly implied that Olamide isn't rich enough to afford such a car!
