ASUU Strike:Our aim is to eliminate ghost workers in Universities but we'll welcome other options-FG

Everyone knows that it has been up to 7 months that the members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities popularly referred to as ASUU embarked on an indefinite strike.

ASUU took this decision after the Federal Government of Nigeria introduced the Integrated Payroll and Personal Information System, otherwise referred to as IPPISS for payment of university staffs.

However, members of ASUU said they do not want this instead, the Federal Government should use UTAS, which is their own initiative, of which they have been talking on this over the past one month but the two sides have not reached the same conclusion.

According to the headlines on Punch Newspaper this morning, it was revealed that the reason why the Federal Government introduced IPPISS for the payment of university staffs is in order to eliminate ghost workers among the staffs but, they have now agreed to welcome any other valid idea has ASUU members are not reaching agreement with them.
