Internet Users Mock Policemen That Were Deployed To Lekki Toll Gate But Couldn't Find Protesters

The Second wave of the #EndSARS protest was triggered by the legal action of the Nigeria Police Force requesting a Federal High Court in Abuja to issue an order to stop the state judicial panels of inquiry set up by governors to investigate reported cases of police brutality and human rights infringement by SARS officers.



Also, demands this time include the unfreezing of #EndSARS accounts, release of unlawfully detained protesters and justice for victims of the #LekkiMassacre.




Recall that the first wave of the #EndSARS protests which spanned the first week of October 2020, till the third week was sustained via digital strategies including social media and petitions.


However, the first wave ended up on a tragic note as lives of young and promising youths were cut off. Coupled with hijacking of peaceful protests by thugs, looting and loss of properties by hoodlums.

Following intelligence reports of another round of EndSars protests, with Lekki toll gate, known as the epicentre of the protest, authorities have deployed policemen and soldiers to the Lekki Toll Plaza in Lagos. The gun-wielding security operatives placed themselves in strategic locations around the area.

These strategy I can describe as "once bitten, twice shy" taken by the Nigerian Government i believe is to prevent another further affliction from arising for the second time just like what occurred during the first wave of protest.

Security personnels, Camera man, Journalist were seen every where, however there was no single protesters on ground.

The Nigerian youths took to their social media platforms to express their thoughts on how glad they were to see the security personnels disappointed on realizing that they met the venue empty.
