"My Brother Said This Is The Salary Of Kogi State Teachers" - Adeyanju Deji

A lot of people have said that teaching is a very tasking job that does not only involves your intellectual capabilities, but also your ability to impact the children and students you are teaching; the profession is undoubtedly one of the best because if prepares great minds and also give a lot of people the platform to excel in their various field of study, be it In Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Engineering, and so on. But the cry of most teachers is that their pay is too small, a lot of them have cried out before now that what they get at the end of the month does not size up with their labour and efforts.







The Human Right Activist, Adeyanju Deji has shared a screenshot of the Salary a Kogi State teacher received for the month of January. According to him, he said he brother, "Austine Okai" said the screenshot he sent to him is the exact money Kogi State teachers receive each month. The screenshot contain a credit alert from Kogi State dated February 1, 2021 and the person was credited with N6,720.71 as SUBEB Salary.


No one really knows of this is true as a teacher cannot just go to work five days in a week, 20 days in a month only to receive less than N10,000 as salary which is not even enough to care and carter for his/her family. It is high time government paid more attention to teachers in the country, because they are really working and trying their best to raise future leaders of tomorrow.




This has led to mixed reactions on Facebook as many think Kogi State governor cannot pay teachers such amount of money at the end of the month. Others have also said that nothing seems to be working in Kogi State and that majority of people are feeding from hand to mouth.
