'It is against every rule, it's a crime' - Mourinho slams festive schedule

Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho condemned the Premier League's festive schedule as a "crime" against his players following the 2-1 win over Brighton on Boxing Day.

Spurs, who lost 2-0 to Chelsea four days ago, play again in just 48 hours when they travel to Norwich on December 28 before visiting Southampton on New Year's Day.

"I cannot imagine these boys – not just my boys, but Potter's boys – how they can play [again] in 48 hours," Mourinho said after second-half goals from Harry Kane and Dele Alli cancelled out Adam Webster's opener.

"If you go to control the distances they run, the intensity, the breaks, if you are going to control that and if we are going to tell anyone who understands physiology, it is a crime that they are going to play football again on the 28th.

"It is against every rule of physiology, biology, biochemistry, every rule. But that is the way it is, even with three guys suspended."
