9 Assists, 3 Goals: Van Persie Showers Encomium on Nigerian Wonderkid

Arsenal legend Robin Van Persie has showered encomium on Nigerian-descent Bukayo Saka after he produced a Man of the Match performance in his team's Europa League clash on Thursday.

Saka, 18, provided the match-winning assist for Alexandre Lacazette as the Gunners beat Olympiacos 1-0 in Greece.

Saka, who won the Man of the Match in Arsenal's 4-0 win over Newcastle in the Premier League over the weekend bossed the left flank and connected well with his teammates.

A delighted Van Persie was pleased with the performance of the teenage sensation and feels his assist was world-class.

“This type of pass is like from Ryan Giggs, Dennis Bergkamp, Paul Scholes. This is ordering your striker to move there, into that danger zone. It’s actually world-class. He makes it look easy," Van Persie stated.

Saka now has nine assists and three goals for Arsenal this season and will hope to continue his great form when Mikel Arteta's men host Everton on Sunday.

Internationally, Saka has played for England at youth level, but he's still eligible to switch his allegiance to Nigeria.
