"I Feel Like I'm Watching A Training Session" - Ex Chelsea Star Fabregas Reacts To Bundesliga Games

Former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has reacted with uncertainty over the resumption of games in the German league.




The German Bundesliga decided to resume games this weekend after previously suspending the league due to the Coronavirus epidemic, despite calls for a rethink, the German FA has gone ahead with those games while ensuring fans stayed away from the stadiums.







Expressing his thoughts on games resuming without fans in the stadium, Cesc Fabregas tweeted: "I feel like I’m watching a training session. U can hear all players and coaches shouting. Now we will value the power of the fans even more. Captains choosing pitch sides with 3 meters distance when straight away they have to fight for every ball against each other face to face."

"Glad football is back, we all needed it but it will take ages to get used to this new world of football."






Fabregas who currently plays for AS Monaco joins a long list of players who have called for Leagues not to resume due to fears of spreading the virus.






In a similar vein, Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham was in the news earlier in the week after the talisman questioned the English FA's preference for continuing the EPL. The England striker expressed deep safety concerns about that idea with Abraham explaining that he stays with an asthmatic father whose life could be in great danger should he contact the virus while playing when games resume.

Sports pundits from various countries have also expressed fears that there could be an escalation of the virus should leagues around the world resume football. Their major arguments are how do people social distance during a game?, or score without celebrating with each other?.

Football Associations around the world and football body UEFA have continued in discussions over what is to happen going forward as regards resumption of games in various leagues and continuation of the UEFA Champions League.




Nigerian midfield maestro, Mikel Obi was recently released by "mutual consent" from his club Trabzonspor over his refusal to play, stating he had great safety concerns as regards the Turkish Super Lig continuing the league while the world suffered from a pandemic.

The English FA also fear that certain top players may refuse to play over such fears and that could jeopardise their "Project Restart".
