Ray Hushpuppi, born as Raymond Igbalodely, with nicknames; Aja Puppi and Aja 4, was born on June 14 in a yet to be disclosed year. The Nigerian was relatively unknown but gained fame when he became wealthy and successful after moving to Malaysia.
This man is nothing but a Nigerian dark horse, no one knows exactly how he really makes his money, though a lot of people are suspecting he's a "yahoo boy," but there's no hard fact to prove so.
However, on June 10, Interpol arrested Hushpuppi while he was in Dubai. This was for the Covid-19 ventilator fraud worth $35million which purportedly belonged to Native Americans for the Corona Virus Pandemic. The self acclaimed 'Gucci ambassador' was nabbed alongside his close pal and alleged accomplice, Woodberry from their well furnished home in Dubai.
Hushpuppi’s arrest was confirmed after his close friends and some business associates couldn't reach him on his mobile phone which was switched off.
However, it was Kemi Olulonyo, the Pharmacist and self acclaimed investigative journalist who first broke the news in this end. She has not just stopped at that, but reminded everyone through her twitter handle how Hushpuppi ridiculed her health years ago.
"Nothing lasts forever...
I remember when my health was ridiculed. Linda should bail all of you out"
This was her tweet, as she attached a photo with a headline where Hushpuppi was quoted saying; "Apologize to Linda Ikeji before I can give you money"
The arrest was not spontaneous. It was the result of months of serious investigation by the FBI as a result following a fraudulent deal which involved Ray Hushpuppi and his "Yahoo boys" crew. It was alleged that they collected some amount of money (about $35m) from the United States of America and could not properly launder it as they usually do.
It was this error that resulted in the ability of the FBI to build a solid case against them, which was enough to get a warrant for their arrest.
