The Federal Government of Nigeria has lifted the ban placed on Executive Air Services Limited, a private airline which flew singer, Azeez Fashola known as Naira Marley to Abuja sometimes in June when he attended a concert.

Two Feared Dead As Icelanders, Greenlanders Cult Groups Clash In Port Harcourt

Two persons are now feared dead after an early morning gang war between two cult groups at Amadi-Ama area of Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

Reports say a civilian is one of the victims, who was hit by a stray bullet.

The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the development but said no death was recorded during the clash.

Spokesman of the Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni, contrary to eyewitness reports, told newsmen that no life was lost in the clash between rival cult gangs.

3) One Dead, Three Injured In Lagos Gas Explosion

A yet-to-be-identified person lost his life to a gas explosion, which occurred at a storey building on the Cappa Avenue, Palmgrove Estate, Palmgrove area of Lagos State.

Three others, who sustained varying degrees of injury, were rescued by emergency responders and rushed to hospital for treatment.

It was gathered that the explosion was caused by gas leakage from the cylinder being used to service the air conditioner in the building.

The Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed the incident, said the remaining occupants were evacuated from the building, adding that the scene of the incident had been cordoned off to prevent a secondary incident.

2) Two Teenage Illegal Miners Killed In Niger State

The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the death of two teenagers suspected to be illegal miners in the Tunga area of Minna, the state capital.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Wasiu Abiodun, who confirmed the incident , said the victims were killed by gunmen.

It was learnt that the incident occurred when the miners numbering about 50 embarked on an illegal mining activity.

It was also gathered that the teenagers, whose names could not be ascertained, were known to be notorious illegal miners in the area.

N32.5million Fraud: Nigerian Pastors Serving 17 Years Jail Term Get Another 26

Justice F. N. Azinge of the Delta State High Court sitting in Otor-Udu has convicted and sentenced one Pastor Glory Okeoghene Aberefa and Reverend Vincent Okpogo to 16 and 10 years imprisonment respectively.

The duo, alongside their company, Mustard Seed Micro Investment Limited, were prosecuted by the Benin Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Under the guise of running a finance company, the convicts defrauded dozens of unsuspecting members of the public of millions of naira, through their fraudulent Mustard Seed Micro Investment Limited.

EFCC legal team members, V. O. Agbaje and K. U. Udus had acted on a petition and investigation which fingered them in the stealing of the sum of N32,516,620.

Amaechi: I’m scared of COVID-19

Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi has openly expressed his fear for the coronavirus, stating that he is not ready to die.

The minister said because of the fear, he carries his sanitiser and extra mask around just as a precaution to prevent being infected with the virus and also to curb the spread.

Amaechi spoke in Abuja on Monday during the briefing by members of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

Amaechi said the ministry will introduce e-ticketing on the Abuja-Kaduna railway route in two to three months time as a measure to observe physical distancing as recommended by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.

Man in court over N1.3m accumulated bills while lodging in hotel

An Igbosere Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, on Monday, docked a 33-year-old man, Chimezie Mba, who allegedly accumulated N1.3 million while lodging in a hotel and refused to pay.

Mba, whose address was not given, is standing trial on a three-count charge bordering on fraud and assault and pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Cyriacus Osuji, told the court that the defendant Osuji said that the defendant, lodged at H3 Luxury Cottage and Apartment and accumulated N1.3 million bills from services rendered to him, including accommodation.

According to the prosecutor, the defendant failed to pay the sum and assaulted three hotel workers who asked him to offset the accumulated bills.

Magu sends defence to Salami panel

Suspended Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Mr. Ibrahim Magu has submitted a 78-page defence to the Presidential Investigation Committee, that he is innocent of all allegations against him.

Magu described the allegations as false and aimed at bringing him into disrepute.

He said he never disrespected the Attorney-General of the Federation, Mr. Abubakar Malami (SAN), who has authority to prosecute all cases.

He also claimed that he did not sell seized assets to cronies because no recovered properties had been sold since he came on board. He denied operating slush accounts through proxies.

DSS warns on plans to destabilise country

Soldiers have been warned by the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) against engaging in mutiny or revolt against constituted civil authorities.

The warning came on a day the Department of State Services (DSS) warned on plots to destabilise the nation.

The DHQ restated that all officers and men of the military swore to an oath of allegiance to be totally loyal to the civil authority of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and protect the Constitution.
